Tibhar 5Q - A new topsheet for offensive players
Have you heard from the Tibhar Q series? Within this rubber series, the Tibhar 5 Q is a table tennis rubber which corresponds to an offensive gaming style (OFF). The reasons for this are based on the properties of its sponge and topsheet (rubber with pips in).
The sponge material of the Tibhar 5Q is medium-hard. This means that the overall feeling of this rubber is neither too soft, nor too hard. As you might already know, very soft sponges usually mediate a "spongy" and indirect feeling. Very hard sponges are quite the opposite: They behave in a very direct way, with an extreme speed and only little control, feedback, and feeling. The Tibhar 5 Q is the golden mean, so to speak. Its sponge is still direct, fast, and powerful, however, it still provides sufficient feedback, safety, and control. This makes it also possible to play slow strokes (when gently hitting the ball) as well as very fast strokes (when hitting the ball harder), corresponding to a great speed versatility. Furthermore, the sponge supports rotational and spinny balls. For the OFF style, this is particularly beneficial when playing topspins and / or counter-topspins, especially from the mid distance.
The topsheet of the Tibhar 5Q was redesigned. It is now more tense and fairly tacky. The latter property (tacky, sticky) is responsible for an increased static friction coefficient. This means that there is an increased contact force between the topsheet and the ball, causing the ball to accept the movement of the paddle to a larger extent. This significantly increases the amount of spin of the ping pong ball. The first property mentioned above (more tense topsheet) further promotes this effect. The tense structure causes the topsheet to deform a bit when the ball hits the topsheet during e.g. topspin strokes. Due to its quite stiff condition, the topsheet works almost like a spring: It saves energy and, subsequently, releases the energy to induce much spin in terms of the ball. For the above-mentioned reasons it becomes evident that the Tibhar 5Q has a great energy transfer to the ball.
Tibhar 5Q - SPI system and summary
As you can see, the Tibhar 5Q combines two key features which are essential for offensive players (OFF): Speed, power, and directness with much rotation and spin. Note that there is still fair control! Still, we recommend this rubber from the Tibhar Q series for advanced players only! You need a certain amount of expertise and skills in order to be able to perfectly control this rubber. This rubber is particularly suitable for topspins and counter-topspins from the mid distance. The throw angle of topspins can usually be described as medium high. In addition, the Tibhar 5 Q also exhibits a great sound.
Another striking feature of the Tibhar 5 Q is its SPI system. SPI stands for Speedglue Effect Inside. This technology comes from Tibhar and makes the former speed-gluing unnecessary. As you probably know, speed-gluing is officially prohibited. With the SPI system, almost the same characteristics of the former speed-gluing are achieved by this system. These characteristics include speed, spin, sound, feeling, etc. The SPI system is already (and permanently) integrated in these Tibhar rubbers (ex works). In general, the Tibhar 5Q also exhibits a high durability and life expectancy.
